ABOUT CASHMERE AND EMAAL CASHMERE
Cashmere originally comes from the Himalayas and is obtained from the undercoat of the cashmere goat. The fine hair is usually combed out or shorn in spring when the coat changes, before being carefully sorted, washed and processed. Today, China, Australia, New Zealand and Scotland are the world leaders in production.
With a diameter of just 15 to 19 micrometres, the fine hair of the cashmere goat is so fine that it provides excellent heat retention and is also light as a feather. This natural warmth can be felt when you run your hand over the wool. It is therefore ideal as a material for exclusive scarves and shawls.
The name EMAAL is a personal story of the founder, it is the fusion of three names: Emma, Magda & Alexandra. My two daughters and me. Emma and Magda share my passion for cashmere and scarves.
In principle, every manufacturer is obliged to correctly declare the fiber composition of their product. If the label says 100% cashmere, the scarf should definitely be 100% cashmere. The fabric can also be carefully pulled apart - high-quality cashmere returns to its original shape even after being stretched, while low-quality cashmere remains stretched.
Pills usually form where the cashmere scarf rubs against each other due to movement. Often at the point on the scarf where we carry our bag. The friction causes small fibers to loosen and knot into fluff, which then forms pills.
The most effective method for removing pills from your cashmere scarf is the pilling shaver. It is a battery-operated lint shaver that simply cuts off the pilling with a sharp blade.

CLEANING OF KASHMIR
Due to the ultra-fine structure, it is recommended that scarves and shawls are washed by hand using a mild or wool detergent. Standard commercial detergents, ironing or tumble drying can damage the hair structure. It should also be noted that cashmere clothing should only be cleaned at least every 4 days.
